I'm Embarassed to Say I'm American Sometimes

The Congress of the United States is full of Crap. They are working AGAIN on passing a flag-burning amendment, and this time it might happen. This is the biggest slap in the face to freedom we can have. It proves that the right wing is the domain of screw-heads.

There's nothing more I can say with this without a string of four-letter words, so imagine your own next two paragraphs.

Now I know It's Just a Comedy Program...

There was a brief segment before commercial on the Daily Show tonight about Dog Sled Racing. It was one of those quick knockoffs specifically designed to be "sponsored by..." some product. When it got to the payoff and the sponsor was revealed, it was none other than: COORS LIGHT!!!

Pete Coors ran for office in Colorado as a Republican. He did not hide his point of view.

He and his company, support many radical (always start with radical when you're finishing with...) right-wing causes.

I know it's just a comedy program, but I get my televised news from the Daily Show. It's just unsettling to me that they would take sponsorship from these jack-asses.

Do I stop watching Daily Show? Do I start buying Coors Light? Do I forget it all and download porn... I think I found a winner!

It's a nostalgia thing, hanging on to CD's

I'm living in the past. For some reason I still believe that having a CD burner on my computer is a magnificent thing.

Remember all of those commercials for K-tel (sic.) records saying "if you put together a collection like this yourself, you'd have to buy ALL THIS," and they show you a pile of CD's 3 feet high and a football field wide? Well, I bought many of the CD's, and had a friend pirate a number of downloaded songs for me so I could make just a collection... but not JUST a collection. I'm talking about a 6-CD-for-each-year-from-1964-to-1985 collection! You know, something I can listen to in my car when I need to feel I'm back in the safety of the good-old-days of Dad driving instead of competing for a faster lane on the road with a bunch of assholes.

Well, it isn't going so well. I want to have the whole thing in a chronological order of entrance into the Billboard top 100, but everytime I finsh a year's worth of discs, I find there are about half a dozen songs (usually important ones) that I'd missed in the the running order. I've had to change 1975 3 times already only to find that I also forgot to put Elton John's "Island Girl" into the mix.

God Damn It!!!

Somebody put me out of my misery and buy me a freakin' I-Pod already!!!

Thanks for Calling...

In the past 4 days I've had the opportunity to spend time with 2 friends from Manhattan, completely separate from one another. First Jon over the weekend, tonight Seema (and I'm sure again later this week).

In the meantime the number of friends locally who have called have been few: Darrell and Steve'n'Diana. All the rest of y'all, screw y'all! If you can live less than 10 miles from me (in many cases less than 3), and I don't hear from you for more than 6 months, it's probably time to delete you from the phonebook.

You've been warned!!

P.S. In the case of most of you, I admit that I have been screening my calls and not answering because I don't want to spend time with you. Sorry about the harsh reality. I'm a right bloody bastard.
